Stage manager

Register to be a stage manager volunteer

Stage managers will be in charge of a festival stage, being a central contact point for a stage and making sure performances run to time and artists have what they need.

We are looking for clear communicators with good organisation skills.

You will have the opportunity to meet lots of our amazing artists and help them to deliver a great performance, on schedule!

Accessibility

This is an outdoor volunteer role stationed at a stage, so you’ll need to navigate the stage set up.

All stages will have one set of stairs and one ramp to access the stage floor. You will have a chair available at times.

It will require you to interact with people and support them in their roles. It will be busy and loud.

Duties

  • Be the primary point of contact between event staff, audio-visual technicians, the performers, and our showcase coordinators
  • Keep the stage running to schedule
  • Support the festival team if they are coordinating official activities on your stage
  • Manage the backstage area and change rooms to keep them tidy and organised
  • Report any concerns or issues to the precinct manager
  • Manage stage assistants and MCs
