Community Panel Reference Group

At the heart of the National Multicultural Festival in Canberra, we have our Community Panel Reference Group (CPRG). This dedicated group plays a vital role in ensuring that our festival stays true to its community roots.

Meet our local representatives

The CPRG consists of eight passionate local community representatives who provide valuable information, strategic advice, and perspectives to the Community Services Directorate and our festival management team. These dedicated individuals ensure that the festival aligns with the needs and aspirations of our multicultural community.

Meet the current CPRG members:

  • Mr. Giovani Alvarez-Cano
  • Ms. Ambreen Atif
  • Mr. Kofi Bonsu
  • Mr. Malcolm Buchanan
  • Ms. Ruchika Goel
  • Mr. Luka Musicki
  • Ms. Toa Takiari
  • Ms. Chin Wong

Why a diverse CPRG matters

Having a diverse CPRG with deep insights into the needs of Canberra's multicultural communities is crucial to the success of the National Multicultural Festival. These CPRG members actively engage with the multicultural community to:

  • seek broad input
  • share festival priorities and activities
  • encourage participation

If you'd like to dive deeper into the role of the Community Panel Reference Group, please read the Terms of Reference.

Please note applications for new CPRG members are currently closed. Expressions of Interest for new members will be advertised again in April 2024.
