2020 National Multicultural Festival

2020 National Multicultural Festival Stallholder applications are now open!

The National Multicultural Festival (Festival) is a celebration of the cultural diversity of the Australian Capital Territory. The Festival serves as a platform for the multicultural community groups, allowing them to showcase their traditions and heritage, through music, dance, cultural displays and food stalls.

There are multiple categories under which stallholders can apply. Please consider the items you are selling when applying and if you are unsure as to which category you fall under, please contact the Festival team on inbox@multicultralfestival.com.au

The application categories are:

  • Community Food and/or Culturally Relevant Items (e.g. traditional jewellery, clothing or crafts)
  • Community Food and/or Liquor
  • Community Clubs
  • Community Information
  • Commercial Food and/or Culturally Relevant Items (e.g. traditional jewellery, clothing or crafts)
  • Commercial Food and/or Liquor *all registered organisations must apply under this category
  • Diplomatic

Applicants should have the following items before starting the online application: (Please note, these details are required to complete the online application and the online application must be completed in one sitting, or all details will need to be resubmitted.)

  • Public Liability Insurance policy details (including policy expiration date)
  • Power and cool room parking space requirements
  • For Community Organisations, the organisations Incorporation number
  • For Community Clubs, the club License number

Payment will not be accepted before an application is approved. Successful applications will receive an email and invoice. Payment is required within seven working days of receiving this email.

Inclusion in the Festival is not confirmed until payment has been received. Delayed payment may result in the application no longer being accepted and a stall may be offered to another applicant in the case of delayed payments. Stallholders with outstanding fees from previous festivals are excluded from participating in the 2020 event.

2020 National Multicultural Festival Grants Program

$85,000 in National Multicultural Festival Grants funding for community organisations

Applications are now open for the Participation Grant Program for the 2020 National Multicultural Festival (NMF).
A total of $85,000 will be directed toward initiatives that promote community participation, cultural diversity and inclusion at the Festival.

The Participation Grant Program provides funding to ACT based community organisation’s to participate, celebrate, and showcase their respective cultural traditions and heritage, through language, music, dance, cultural displays and food.

Applying for a Participation Grant is a great way for local community organisation’s to be part of the fun at the 2020 Festival.

Eligible organisation’s can apply for grants to:

  • showcase the vibrancy and heritage of multiculturalism through celebrations and events at the 2020 National Multicultural Festival;
  • foster cross-cultural awareness, understanding, respect, community groups and intercultural relationships; and
  • enable ACT multicultural communities to celebrate, preserve and share traditions and heritage through cultural performances (dance and music) and in other meaningful ways.

Applications are scheduled to close at 5pm Monday 5 August 2019.
