Parade Applications are now open!

The National Multicultural Festival Parade has everything from beautiful exotic costumed dancers and marching cultural bands, to magnificent floats.

Each year thousands flock to the streets of Canberra on Saturday of the Festival to witness the festival parade which is a sea of vibrant colour and sound as performers from the local community and international groups dance and march through the city.

Participation in the Parade is growing with this year’s parade expecting over 2,000 performers taking part.

Registrations will be open from 16 October 2019 and will close on 31 January 2020.

Next Steps for Applicants

Professional Performers

  • Applications are being assessed and will conclude by early October.
  • All applicants will receive a formal letter notifying them of the outcome.
  • Successful applicants will receive a Performance Agreement. This will need to be a signed agreement and returned within 14 working days.

Festival Grants

  • Assessment of applications is nearing completion.
  • The outcome of the 2020 NMF Grant Program will be advised in once assessment is finalised.
  • All applicants will receive a formal letter notifying them of the outcome.
  • Once all grant recipients have been published on Community Services Directorate website, successful grant recipients will be advised on the next steps.

Stallholders

  • Applications are being assessed and this will conclude by early October.
  • Successful stallholders will receive a formal letter of offer with an attached invoice.
  • Payment is required within seven working days of receiving the invoice, noting that it can take up to three working days for payments to be received.

Volunteer Performers

  • Applications are being assessed and is set to conclude by early October.
  • All applicants will receive a formal letter notifying of the outcome.
  • For those that are successful, a Letter of Participation will be issued. This will need to be signed letter and returned within 14 working days.
