The National Multicultural Festival (the Festival) is back in 2020!

The Festival Newsletter will keep you in the loop as we head towards the 2020 celebration.

The NMF Team looks forward to working with members from our fabulous community, organisations, performers, stallholders and volunteers to make this event a success again in 2020.

2020 Festival Opening Hours

Friday 21 February: 2:00pm - 11:00pm
Saturday 22 February: 10:00am - 11:00pm
Sunday 23 February: 10:00am - 4:00pm

Festival Grants

Applications are also now open for the Participation (National Multicultural Festival) Grants. A total of $85,000 is available for projects that enable community participation, cultural diversity and inclusion at the 2020 Festival.

Applications close 5:00pm Monday 5th August 2019. Use the following link to apply:

Performers and Stall Holders Application Information


All performances (artistic and cultural) will be considered on application including dance, music, song, comedy, theatre etc. Each application will be assessed on a number of factors when deciding on selection and the NMF reserves the right to schedule all acts on stages. To register please choose one of the following categories of performers: Professional (paid) Performers Registration OR Volunteer Performers Registration.

Close: 16 September 2019


There are multiple categories under which stallholders can apply for a stall at the 2020 Festival. Please read the terms and conditions to be clear on your organisation’s eligibility when applying.

Other News

  • The 2020 Festival Footprint is under construction and will be posted on the official Festival website upon completion.
  • A number of consultation sessions are planned to gather feedback from Canberra CBD Business owners. Look out for these dates so you can come along - we’d love to hear from you.
