DIAN Dancers first emerged in the Malay Arts scene in December 2003. The group’s name which figuratively means glowing light is and has remain very true to its motto, “Menyuluh Wawasan Budaya”—Enlightening our Cultural Heritage.

Thus armed with their foundational mandate to preserve the traditions of our forefathers, DIAN Dancers have been very active in showcasing quality performances to the masses. Likewise, they have collaborated with and voluntarily participated in the productions of other established Malay Arts groups, namely ERA Dance Theatre and Perkumpulan Seni Singapura.

Abdul Yazid Juhuri who has held the position of Artistic Director since the group’s inception, has produced great and memorable works of art which has serve as the group’s trademark in the competitive industry.

DIAN Dancers is currently based in Kallang Community Centre and has plans to move to greener pastures in coming years. Gradually gaining recognition as an emerging group in the Malay Arts arena, Dian Dancers hopes to scale the heights and make their long term aspirations to bring Malay Dance on an international stage a reality in time to come.
