The annual National Multicultural Festival will celebrate it's 21st birthday in the centre of Canberra this February and is set to provide a fun and free family-friendly event that includes activities for everyone, shows, food and drink stalls, dancing, and celebrations.

Opening Concert

The opening concert will take place across two nights and will feature performances by well-known local, national and international acts.

Friday - 17 February 2017

The second instalment of the Festival’s opening concert is a free event and will feature headline performer Kate Ceberano along with Wiradjuri, Bollywood, Andrea Kirwin, Miriam Leiberman, The Borderers and Sol Nation. Along with this incredible line-up of entertainment, stallholders will be selling delicious food, drink and lots more for all to enjoy.

Saturday - 18th February 2017

Your Passport to Europe

On 18 February the National Multicultural Festival will be "Your Passport to Europe" right in the heart of Civic on Bunda St.  An 'EU Passport' will be handed out on the day from the EU Delegation to Australia stall within the EU Village which lets you stamp your way around 25 EU member countries and the EU information stall. Activities will include a kid's corner, Rubik's cube and Lego competitions, goodies and plenty of opportunity for selfies and meeting the staff of the European embassies in Canberra. The EU Delegation will also provide a photo booth on the day and have a hamper on display with EU member state goodies to be won.

Saturday will also feature many varied and exciting showcases including the renowned Food and Dance Spectacular, The FRINGE, Happy Chinese New Year, Pacific Island Showcase, African Village, European Village, India in the City, the Indigenous Showcase and the vibrant and exciting Parade! This is the biggest day of the Festival with all the food and drink you can consume!

Food and Wine Expo

Sunday - 19th February 2017

Sunday will bring you some of your annual favourites including the Latin Quarter, Greek Glendi, Celtic Ceilidh and Contact Canberra. Taste more food from around the world on Sunday.
