This song was written for a popular movie in the 1960s, based on the Tadzhikistans folk music. One of the good guys died in the end, and thats why the last line of the lyric is the floweir is grown with the blood of the youth

Wiekopolska Polish Dance Group

Wielkopolska Polish Dance

The Group has participated in many concerts and festivals within the Canberra area

including: Floriade, Multicultural Festival, Canberra Festival, Multicultural week and Ausdance Festival, Royal Canberra Show and the Strzelecki Festival at Jindabyne in the NSW Snowy Mountains.

The dance group has also represented Canberra at  Pol-Art Festivals. These were Polish cultural festivals held in Brisbane, Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne.

Most of the original members from the 1980’s  have left the group.There are however  two performers who remain from the original group established in the early 80’s. Mark and Krystyna Mikolajczak: They are now the joint directors of the present group who have been together since 2002
