Groove Warehouse Steel Band

Jamaican Steel Band

Canberra based ensemble that performs the music of Trinidad and Tobago.

The Steel Band may perform in community concerts as well as Groove Warehouse concerts. The Beginner Steel Band is specially formulated for people ages 13 and over. Each term we will explore a wealth of musical genres including Calypso, Soca, and Reggae.  Steel Bands explore the rich world of the Steel Pan with an emphasis on music reading as well as aural learning (learning through listening and watching), improvisation and creative expression. This ensemble will perform on the Groove School's set of Tenor, Guitar, Cello, and Bass Steel Drums custom crafted in Trinidad.

Gyongyosbokreta Hungarian Folk Dance Group

General Cultural Performances

Established in 1984, the Gyongyosbokreta Hungarian Folkloric Association is the governing body of the Gyongyosbokreta Hungarian Folk Dance Group, based in Canberra Australia.

The group is comprised of local Canberran's of all ages. Some with Hungarian backgrounds, other's with no Hungarian heritage at all, but all having a love for the rich, vibrant and energetic dance that is Hungarian Folk Dance.
