2017  National Multicultural Festival: 17 – 19 February 2017

Where will the 2017 National Multicultural Festival held?

The National Multicultural  Festival is held in the Canberra Central Business District (CBD).

What are the operating hours for the festival?

Friday 17 February  2017: 3.30pm - 12am;
Saturday 18 February 2017: 9.30am – 12.50am; and
Sunday 19 February  2017: 10am – 5.30pm.

How do I know if I have been accepted to volunteer?

You will  receive an email confirming/declining your status as a volunteer for the 2017  Festival.

When will I be assigned my schedule and position/s?

Assigned  schedules and roles will be emailed mid-December and confirmed no later than 20  January 2017.

How old do I have to be to volunteer?

To volunteer  at the National Multicultural Festival you must be over the age of 16 years. However,  if you are not over 18 you will require a parent/guardian to accompany you  throughout your shift.

Do I need to bring food/drinks for my shift?

Some light  snacks and refreshments will be provided to volunteers throughout the Festival  in the Volunteer Breakout Area (Level 2, Theo Notaras Multicultural Centre,  Civic Square.) If you work two consecutive shifts you will be required to take  a one hour break. There will be food stalls operating throughout the Festival.  However, we do recommend that you eat before a shift, and bring a water bottle  to take with you during your shift.

What do I do if I am not available for a shift?

Phone 6207  1380 or email – nmfvolunteers@act.gov.au and in the subject field of the email list: the word “Volunteer” followed by  your “full name” and “CANCEL”(e.g., Email Subject: Volunteer John  Smith CANCEL). Please endeavour to let us know as soon as possible if you  are unable to make a shift, ideally within 24 hours, so that we can find  someone to fill your role.

Where can I park?

Limited  parking will be available Constitution Ave access to car park – Long  & short term car parking is available.

Where do I report for sign in and sign off for start of each of my shifts?

National Multicultural Festival HQ, Volunteer Centre, Level 2 North Building 180 London  Circuit City, Canberra City

Will I receive a map of the festival footprint?

Yes, additional maps will also be available at the National Multicultural Festival  information stall and the Volunteer Break out Area Level 2 North Building 180 London Circuit City, Canberra  City.
