Temporary Road Closures for the National Multicultural Festival

The ACT Government wishes to advise motorists and other road users that there will be a number of road closures in the City for the 2013 National Multicultural Festival.

Only one lane along London Circuit, between Constitution Avenue and Northbourne Avenue, will be open to vehicle traffic in both directions from 10 am to 6 pm on Friday 8 February 2013. The speed limit will be reduced to 40 kilometres per hour.

From 6 pm on Friday 8 February 2013 to 8 pm on Sunday 10 February 2013 all lanes on London Circuit, between Constitution Avenue and Northbourne Avenue, will be closed. In addition, the following closures will take place throughout the Festival:

  • London Circuit/Commonwealth Avenue carpark (opposite Baileys Corner) will be closed from 6 am on Friday 8 February 2013 to 8 pm on Sunday 10 February 2013
  • Akuna Street, between Bunda Street and London Circuit, will be closed from 10 am on Friday 8 February 2013 to 8 am on Monday 11 February 2013
  • London Circuit/Constitution Avenue carpark (adjacent to south building) will be closed from 5pm on Friday 8 February 2013 to 5 pm on Sunday 10 February 2013.

Barriers as well as warning and diversion signs will be erected to alert people of the closures.

The ACT Government apologises for the inconvenience caused.

Opening hours

The National Multicultural Festival will take place in Canberra City from Friday 8 to Sunday 10 February.

Entertainment and stalls are due to operate from:

  • 4pm until midnight on Friday 8th February 2013;
  • 9.30am until 12.50am on 9th Saturday 2013 and
  • 10am-5pm on 10th Sunday 2013.

Stallholders and Entertainerment applications close on 9 November 2012.  No late applications accepted.
